A small atelier, a short collection
VLAD GHEORGHE FARCAS is a small clothing atelier working from Strada Decebal 9 in Drăgășani, in the Vâlcea region of Romania. We design and sell a deliberately short collection of knitwear and dresses: cable knit cardigans, textured button fronts, chiffon maxi dresses and ruched minis. Nothing enters the range unless it earns its place beside everything else we make. That is why the colours stay in a narrow family of greens, creams and warm neutrals, and why the shapes are chosen to be worn together rather than one at a time. Most pieces are produced in small runs, so a style can sell out and return a season later with a small correction to the pattern.
How a piece is chosen
Every garment begins as a sample that we wear ourselves for a month before it is offered. We look at how the knit recovers after washing, whether a button front sits flat when the cardigan is open, and whether a dress still hangs properly after an hour of sitting down. If the sample fails any of those tests, the pattern goes back for adjustment and a second sample is made before production begins. The pieces that survive are the ones in this collection. It is a slow way to build a wardrobe, but it is the only way we know to keep a collection small, honest about fit, and still worth returning to next season.

Orders are packed by the same people who answer the emails, so a question about fit reaches someone who has handled the garment. We ship from Romania across the European Union and further afield, and we hold a fourteen day return window with free return shipping inside the EU.
